Sunday @ Nihon Mura
I have made a new discovery on last Sunday. A new venue for class lunch especially we are sick of eating in the canteen.Nihon Mura. A Japanese restuarant "hidden" at the new Jurong West Recreation Centre. (The stadium which we passed by along 179 bus route to school). Nihon Mura is a sister restuarant of Suki Yaki and the one at Jurong West is the 3rd branch after the branches at Revenue House and Tampines Sports Complex.
Thinking that it's located at such a ulu place, we didnt expect to see a queue. By the time we reached there around 2, there's a long queue outside the restuarant and suddenly we remembered it's Fathers' Day! haha. Fortunately, the queue cleared very fast.
So, whats so special about this place?
View from the restuarant.
Firstly, there's no menu. And it operates in Marche-style. But no card though. U use ice-cream sticks.
The open kitchen. This is the Charcoal-grilled counter.
In the restaurant itself, there's a few counters: The drinks/ice-cream counter, Charcoal-grilled, Raman/Udon/Don, fried items and a very fast-moving conveyor belt (Note: table not beside conveyor belt.)
To order your food, go to the respective counter and pick up the ice-cream sticks.

... so what do you do next with the ice-cream sticks collected? Placed them all in a cup on your table. The waitress/waiter will pick up all these ice-cream sticks from your cup and take your order from there. Cool rite? haha. Sorry. Momo is so very easily fascinated.
Besides the special way of ordering your food, you would be happy to know that each plate of sushi cost 99 cents only. If you like sushi and dont mind your sushi to have no QC at all, it's the place to have your sushi. Haha.. what i meant by no QC.. as the sushi (the rice part) is not made by the chef at all, its machine made. So you will realise that not the portion of rice can differ and the rice might fall apart.
Know whats the sushi you should whack most over there? The Salmon Sushi! Haha. Sometimes it's okie that they dont have QC. The salmon slice on the sushi is way thicker than the one i had at Sakae. hehe. And also "wider area" too.
Guess we almost lost count of the no. of plates of sushi we had. :) Other than the sushi, we have ordered other food. Sadly to say, only the sushi is cheap. Others are average in price or rather expensive. Their tiny weeny cup of Chawanmushi is a rip-off! Cost 3 bucks. *faints*
