Albrabra.. u better stop it!

Yeah. I know I know.. There have been a serious lack of updates this month. March is like one of the worst month for Uni students.

No holidays to look forward to...

Presentations, presentations and more presentations...

Projects, Lab reports(One coming tmr..)...

Tutorials.....those long overdue one...

Tests tmr again.. SUck.

And next month is .. exams..liao!

To top it off.... we have one moronic lecturer that pissed us off like nuts. No lecture notes, He want us to COPY from his transparencies. So that was what i got from a 3% increment in tuition fee and a Univerisity who aims to be "world class"? Maybe if u think that copying lecture notes is no big deal, he doesnt stop till this part. He wants us to re-paraphrase our lecture notes and submit to him for grading. And the most RIDICULOUS thing is that we dont understand what he was talking and when we request to him to repeat, what we hear is the same thing we dont understand. Normally all i hear is " Go derive your albrabra.. albrabra...." SICK!

As what one of my friends said before, this module has a prerequisite: Module Tamil 101. *shrugged* No wonder.....

Leisure "prawning"

Yesterday night, I paid my first visit to this leisure prawns fishing place located beside Jurong Birdpark, hidden at one corner beside a building. In fact, adjoining this place is a beer garden with a "ge tai" stage.. yeah. Those kind of performance which normally seen during the seventh month in the heartlands. It was a brand new experience for me and this is DD's second visit with his friend/tkd instructor.

The place provided us with the necessary fishing equipment such as the fishing rod with hook, cockles as baits, a small pen knife and a net to contain our catch. The charge for 1 hour prawn fishing was $13 and for 3 hours, the charge is $25. Kinda ex. Well....

The Leisure Prawn Fishing Place

I was given a crash course to this prawn fishing. How to cut my cockles' meat (the baits) the right size so that the prawns will eat it, how to pull the rod etc... Perhaps it's was my virgin attempt, I somewhat has the "beginner's luck" during the first hour of fishing. Just a few seconds after DD went to get my Jolly Shandy for me and handed me the fishing rod, I could feel the tension on the string attached to the rod and the orange float began to sink. Indication of prawn!!! Within a few moments, I "flung" my rod up in a real clumsy manner and ta...da.... my first prawn caught. Haha.. totally exhilarating and soooo.. cheap thrill. DD's friend helped me remove the prawn from the hook and cut off the fella's legs. And then finally dumped it in the net. 15 minutes later, I caught my second prawn when I was helping DD's friend to look after his rod. Darn exciting. Haha....

Apparently, my "beginner's luck" lasted only for 1 hour and for the rest of the hour, it's either some smart prawns ate my bait and escaped unscathed or my gancheong-ness to pull the string up allowed the prawns to escape. Boohoohoo... but DD seemed to have worse luck than me. He only caught his first prawn after almost 2 hours. -_- Ssshhhh... he will kill me if he reads this.

Prawnie prawnie where r u? Keep a lookout on the orange float bobbling up and down on the water. Once it began to sink... you can get ready to catch your prawn.... Another tip was to fish at the corner of the ponds and where there are "currents". Higher probabilty of catching a prawn.

Leisure prawn fishing required much patience... and not outsmart by those clever prawns in the pond. After finished catching the prawns, we headed on to prepare the prawns for..... BBQ. Yes. BBQ the freshly caught prawns on the spot. There were some BBQ pits around and the beer garden provided the fire starter, the charcoals, satay sticks and salt to marinate the prawns. We have to poke the satay stick through the prawn from its tail. Oh yes... the prawns were still alive and struggling. So poking the satay stick into the prawn with their tail still moving up and down was kind of a challenge.

Although the prawns were marinated with only salt, the prawn meat tasted really..... great and try sucking the prawn's head.. the prawn paste would ooze out.... Heavenly! Perhaps, another reason the prawns tasted so good was because we caught them by ourselves. Labour of our "hard work"... Haha... One word to describe the whole experience... ShhhiioookKkk... !

DD's first prawn..Yeah. Finally.
