.: Bcos of U :.

It's my current favourite now... somewhat reflective of my past.

Because Of You -- Kelly Clarkson

I will not make the same mistakes that you did
I will not let myself
Cause my heart so much misery
I will not break the way you did,
You fell so hard
I've learned the hard way
To never let it get that far

Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt
Because of you
I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me
Because of you
I am afraid
I lose my way
And it's not too long before you point it out
I cannot cry
Because you know that's weakness in your eyes
I'm forced to fake
A smile, a laugh everyday of my life
My heart can't possibly break
When it wasn't even whole to start with
Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt
Because of you
I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me
Because of you
I am afraid

I watched you die
Iheard you cry every night in your sleep
I was so young
Y ou should have known better than to lean on me
You never thought of anyone else
You just saw your pain
And now I cry in the middle of the night
For the same damn thing

Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt
Because of you
I try my hardest just to forget everything
Because of you
I don't know how to let anyone else in
Because of you
I'm ashamed of my life because it's empty
Because of you
I am afraid
Because of you
Because of you

.: Settlers Cafe :.

We finally made it for the Settlers Cafe on Wednesday Nite! (Uhmm.. So sorry to put the pics and blog it a little late. hehe.) The usual gang of 8, Weilun, Sotong, Xin Huey, me, Winnie, Xin xin, Yeling and Lesley (The same gang that went to Msia Seafood trip) came down.

We went to the Settlers Cafe's main branch which was near Clarke Quay MRT, opposite Hong Lim Park. The other branch is at Holland V. It's a rather small place, nice and cosy hangout. This was our first visit and so we abit the "gong gong" when we reached there. Haha.. We are totally clueless about the games to play and what food we wanted to eat. Few of us ordered 4 set dinner (soup really pathetic. Only half a bowl?!)and we get 2 hours free. We started playing Monopoly (Singapore Version) ... I guess we should have played those games which we never played before to make our money more worth.

Oh we also have our Swensen Ice cream mooncake feast to celebrate Mooncake fest. Ahaha.. the Cuppicino Cookie ice cream mooncake ( I ate it last year too..) still taste real fantastic! We also have Durian ice cream mooncake (thank goodness the smell wasnt very strong..phew..) Thanks To our Da Da Jie for buying the mooncakes!

After Xin xin and Lesley came, we played The Truth or Dare Version Jenga. Everyone all dying to be honest to tell the truth. But no worries, everything said had contained within the four walls... no one's secret shall be leaked. However, we failed in our attempt to saboh Xinhuey. Sigh.

We played Cranium for one round and end it cos nobody can proceed on. So the guys over at Settlers introduced us to this new game called "Snorta". Well, this game is relatively easy to play. Required memory, speed and your "animal noise-making" techniques. We each choose an animal in the bag and place them in each of our "farmhouse". After all have chosen an animal, we are supposed to make animal noises of the animal that we got. For the first round, Juliana got Pig "Oinkoink!" , Winnie with her Frog " CroaK!" , Lesley with her horse "Neeeiggghh!". Sotong with her snake "SiiSii" , Yeling with her cow "Moomooo!" , Xinxin with her Dog " Woof!" and me with my cat " Meoww!". So imagine the noise that night... After we have gone through one round of who is what and the noise. We hide the animals in the farmhouse and no one supposed to peek! Haha... Then, each of us has a stack of cards. Each cards has pictures of animal on it. And when we each take turn to put down our cards slowly, we have to be alert who put down the same card as you do. Then here comes the speed and memory part, you have to make the noise of the opponent's animal or the opponent make the noise of your animal, depending who manage to recall the animal sound fast. If you are slow, your opponent makes the noise of your animal and you will have the take the cards of your opponent. Mission of this game is to get rid of your cards as many as possible.

Winnie did not seem to have better luck cos she keep getting "croak!" and her cards become more and more. It is not as easy as it seemed to be because of the reaction time. It was truly a game that can give u heart attack! haha..and we have a jolly good time laughing like mad. haha!

We left Settlers early about 920 and a few of us went to the Mac to have a real good chat. All i can say that we all great minds think alike. Haha! =P

Settlers Rox..! But We Rox more!!! Yeah!

At the Settlers. (From Left) "Our Da Da Jie" Weilun (He claimed to be Junyang), Sotong Janice, "Our Da Jie" Jul Shi Xin Huey, Juan, Winnie, Xinxin, Ling. Lesley joined us later. Posted by Picasa

.: Disheartening:.

I have no idea should i be even be blogging about this. I guess many are just simply ignorant (or pretending to be) about what have gone wrong among the class. It's already so disheartening to know that outing organised and end up pang seh. But it feels even more disheartening to see the class getting ε››εˆ†δΊ”θ£‚.

I dunnoe if some have taken such outing for granted. Everytime we "say good" want to do this, do that, but if nobody ever mention a date or initiate to carry out wat we "say good", no one would want to lift their finger to arrange the time cos everyone would be expecting that "someone" to do the organising part. Everyone has taken things for granted, there is always that "someone" to plan for them and the rest can sit back and relax, wait for the sms. Frankly speaking, it's called selfish. If everyone do not want to care, then the organiser can choose not to bother as well. If you think that planning class outing was ever so easy, you are terribly horribly wrong. Simply trying to arrange the time and date can be so blood puking already. So when everything plan sui sui and almost 50% say cannot make it, puke somemore blood. How frustrating can it get?

I understand such things happen very frequently and it's very normal. But because there are some who dun see the need for class bonding that makes the whole thing even more frustrating. We are going to see each other for the next 3 years or so as classmates. If we do not bond well and bochap one another, how are we ever going to let our relationship survive? Being in uni is not all about mugging and killing yourself with books... there should also be time for decent socialising and interaction. Why let your life swallow up by books? I know uni is all about independent learning and blah blah blah.. but there are times that we still depend on one another. If there is no class bonding and a good relationship among the class.. life are going to be a lot more miserable in uni. Why not keep the class together?

It is inevitable that many friction do occur among such a big group. There are times we do have disagreements and miscommunications. Some who are always acting very mysteriously, some who prefer to hide at home with their notes, some who prefer to take a back seat and relax.... there are tendency to stick with people who share similar ideas but i really hope that the class wun segregate further. To bring the class together, it is not the effort of one person. is a class's effort...

If you understand what the hell lot of nonsense i am crapping about, you should really appreciate the effort of that "someone" who always arrange outings for us. Show her your appreciation and respect for her effort by turning up and not mysteriously "fly aeroplane". I guess i can really put myself in her shoes and see for myself how pek chek can it get. If you feel sian and dun feel like turning up, i can tell u that the organiser feels even more sian. Really blood-puking....

.: Wat a Day... :.

Finally... the long awaited recess week is here. A week long study break to cover 5 weeks of untouched work of Thermodynamics, Chem Eng Maths and Biochemistry. *moan* There hasnt been much time either for blogging or sleeping. Barely struggling with a miserable 4 hours of sleep everyday. The past few weeks had been real hectic for everyone with reports, tutorials and quizzes. But before i get down to serious mugging, i went down to Orchard today to do some shopping for mooncakes for Mummy with boyboy.

After finished shopping for the Or Nee mooncakes, we decided to go down to Cafe Cartel for dinner. While at the Cafe eating my Fish and Chips, a couple came by and sit at the sofa seats beside mine. The girl.. somehow or rather.. kinda resemble Monica, an ex JC classmate of mine.. When they seat down, the guy started asking about the girl's name and woo.. i c.. it's a blind date. As the couple was going through the menu, guess what i saw? That girl was using her leg to stroke that guy's leg! Of cos, the guy was getting a bit the distracted as he tried to read the menu and the girl got this coquettish look on her face. Wahaha.. unfortunately the couple left without eating, if not i would have more "free show" to see. Haha.. I cant help to think that the girl resembled Monica so much with her coquettish and seductive look. hahahaha....

Soon after i left Cafe Cartel, i met into an ex NJ friend of mine, Qida. As we walked past each other, i stared at him so hard and tried to recall who he was. Haha.. and guess what he first said to me? "Are you Janice?" ?!?! Do i like Janice in anyway? No no no.. i dun mean that looking like Janice is bad.. Haha. *smack my head* so after a few seconds, he managed to get my name rite. *phew*

.: Casual Friday Vs The Underdressed Undergraduate:.

One of the prof who teaches us appeared on the Thursday's Urban ( straits times)... for being one of the well dressed professors around in the University. Indeed, she is one of the most well dressed professors around other than Prof Metrosexual. ( Hmm.. Why didnt they interview him? I am sure most of us will be more interested to know about him.) When she first taught us MEB during our first year, we couldnt "quite accept" the fact that she dressed like an office lady working in Shenton Way with her jacket and pants. During our tutorial on every Friday, she would dress in a casual attire. ( Like office's casual friday) So that's how "Casual Friday" came about. Almost forgot to mention that we will see her soon again on Every Friday for Chemical Eng Maths. *moan*

A very rare breed of well dressed Professors indeed. On the other hand, Prof Metrosexual and Casual Friday were still young compared to other senior Professors. (Maybe they looked "chao lao" i dunnoe lah.) So naturally they tend to be more well-dressed compared to the rest. Sometimes, they can really blend into the crowd of students and we have to be extra careful if we ever want to talk about them.

As for Prof Metrosexual, his burberry polo tee with the collar rolled up.. and his jeans.. and his "tight-fitting" long sleeved shirts and pants complete with a tie... eye candy for the lucky year ones. That WX should learn some decent dressing tips from Metrosexual. =P

Maybe SCBE should not only have a Teaching Excellence Award for the Professors.. How about a "Excellence Dressing Award"?
