.: Leaving :.

All my bags are packed,
i'm ready to go
I'm standing here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breaking, it's early morn'
The taxi's waiting,
he's blowing his horn
Already i'm so lonesome i could die
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'cause i'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when i'll be back again ( I will be back on Sunday!)

Oh babe, i hate to go

There's so many times i've let you down
So many times i've played around
But tell him that they don't mean a thing
Every place i go i think of you
Every song i sing
i'll sing for you
When i come back,
i'll wear your wedding ring
Now the time has come to leave you
One more time, oh let me kiss you
And close your eyes and i'll be on my way
Dream about the days to come
When i won't have to leave alone
By the times that i won't have to say

.: My Xmas Eve Dinner :.

Yipee! It's Christmas again! Thank you to all my friends for the cards and I am sorry that my cards arrived abit tad too late. Hehe! Last year, DD and I had our Xmas dinner at Jack's place. But this year, we are darn broke, so we decided to go to Ms Clarity for Xmas dinner. Hmm.. Your must be thinking that I am a Kuku.. keep going to the same place. But no money mah... mai hiam buay pai lah.

The atmosphere at Clarity was rather homely. I cant help feeling that I have as if barged into someone's house for Xmas dinner cos the customers around us are either the lady's boss family or friends. Haha...!

It's Xmas dinner time. The xmas novelties given to us by the waitress. The usual stuffs and the candy stick!

How can I miss out featuring the dinner? The food was considerably good for the price we paid. But obviously Jack's place was better cos we paid twice more than what we paid now. It's a direct proportional relationship between the food and the price. But then it's not always true. Last year, we had the lobster salad at Jack's place. Damn shiok can.

The Appetizer. Some fried prawns wrapped in spring roll skin... decorated with some cheese and seasoned tomatoe slices. No lobster.. erm got prawns also can. But the difference is big. Nevertheless, it tasted great!

The Pumpkin Soup... tasted quite good. It's my first time trying it. But dont the bowls look v interesting? The bowl itself is asymmetrical.. and no.. we didnt tilt our bowl.

Here comes the main course. There's 2 main courses to choose from. The snapper fillet in some "unknown" sauce and the Xmas combo (Turkey meat and ham). So we ordered one each. Yeah. The plate might looked v v big which the portion seemed small. But no... the portion are just nice.

DD's snapper fillet with speciality sour sauce which makes the snapper fillet taste like grilled salmon instead. Thats also rosti and some green peas.

.

The Main course: Xmas Combo that comes with Turkey meat and thick slices of Honey glazed Turkey Ham plus some potato wedges. Portion is quite filling.

Momo with her Xmas combo. hehe!

Here comes the dessert. I called it the "ang moh cheng teng". I think i have never "drink" dessert like this during western meals. But doesnt taste too awful with the refreshing peppermint. But the berries are just too sour for my liking.

Hehe! Yummy Bread and Butter Pudding. Theirs happened to have lotsa raisins.. (which DD disliked). Warm and melt into your mouth with the vanilla sauce tasting just right for your tastebuds. Yummy. BTW, This Bread and Butter pudding were on the house! Yippee...

After Xmas dinner, DD and I walked to Esplanade, carrying along the box of Bread and Butter pudding (We ordered that last week.). Along our way to Esplanade, DD honed his photographic skills with his new Lumix. But all the pictures taken here are by me using my Nikon.

The art of Triangles at the Esplanade. Love to look at the way how kids look so excited when their pictures are being taken by their papa and mama. Innocent and Genuinely Happy... =) I wish i can be like them too... so carefree..

One of my xmas wishes hung on the wind chime at Esplanade... Haha. Have a hard time capturing this picture cos the string of cards keep twirling around. We have to keep running round and round the string to "chase" the card. Haha! I wonder what they do with these after Xmas.

Next Year My target Xmas Buffet/dinner is ............. @ Fullerton! Hehe! Wahaha..

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY FRIENDS!!!

~***Best Wishes all Year round!***~

.: All I want for Birthday is..... :.

Some of my friends are pressing me for my birthday wishlist. Oh well, i supposed 2 weeks are enough for prezzie hunting? Hohoho.... Eh i must think of suitable presents which your can buy and share as a group mah.. See i so thoughtful rite? =P

There you go....

1. This Papillo! hehe... It's cheaper if you buy online of cos. I dont even seen it in the birkenstork shop at Wheelock Place. My size will be 36 R/N . (eh I dunnoe whether is R or N.. cos according to the v unfriendly face-black-black salesman, he claimed that all his stocks in his shop is R(regular). )

But if cant find this design, can choose other design which u think would have suit me.

2. Guess Watch. A watch with a big watch face. (Need not be this design...) I never wore a metal chain watch before in my life... cos i think leather watches suit me much better. So preferably leather stap.

3. Acessories. (Earrings, bracelet or necklace) Any acessories. BUT no silver. Silver will turn black very fast. Silver hate me.

4. Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey Summer 2005 EDT Spray 100ml. The smell is nice... wanted a change from Anna Sui's Dolly girl.

5. A hooded Adidas Jacket. But Adidas do not have hooded jacket at the moment. =(

..... Hm... i will update if there's anything else i want. Hehe!

What I will NOT WANT at the moment....

1. Stuffed Toys
2. Bags! ( I got 10+ bags at the last count. So... No bags please.)
3. Ornamental ang kong kia...
4. Candies/chocolates
5. Vouchers (BUT I am fine with adidas vouchers.)
6. Clothes (inclusive of underwears)
7. Wallets (I have many wallets but no cash inside.)
8. Funny things like vibrator.

=) That's all folks!

.: Fastest Fingers :.

It's time for the fastest finger again. This afternoon was the subject registration and all hell break loose at 130pm. Ahaha... One thing i really hate about university is the subject registration (For NUS, it's bidding..). It's really exciting (exciting enough to have a heart attack) cos vacancies for lab and tutorial classes can be gone in 30 seconds. For popular classes with good timetable, the vacancies can be gone within 15 seconds. So your fate for next semester onwards depend on your fingers... Haha! People, start training your fingers now and click away!

At least today was just the registration for the core modules.. The real excitement come at the start of the add/drop period. On that day itself, many people (including me =P) will bring their laptop to class ( of cos not for the class duh.) and try to grab those vacancies of their choice subjects which are dropped by others. Last semester was the craziest... the libraries' computer terminals were filled to the maximum and many skipped lecture. V and me was sitting outside the LT and clicking the refresh button till our fingers were sore. V almost used up her laptop battery and still cant make it to the main page. Unfortunately, the server cannot handle the load and crashed. It was only at the end of the add/drop period that i have gotten my "ideal timetable". That's about 2 weeks cos some Kiasi-s want to keep their electives till the end and wait till the last day to decide which electives are the best.

I dont know how bad the next semester is going to get especially all the freshies will have to add their own subjects on their own now. And it happened that this year freshies' intake are really huge with 3 schools opening at the same time. Imagine the number of people using the system will be growing at an exponential rate every year since there will be increasing more students. Crap... all the resources are stretched. I hate the long long long morning bus queues. (But heng.. only one 830 lesson next semester.) I hate the long long long queues in Canteen. I hate the drop in the standard of food in Canteen. eee....

Heck.. let's think about it after i come back from Bangkok. =)

.: University's Name :.

Read this yahoo news about NTU and I couldnt help laughing about SM Goh's speech about the name of university...

Sunday December 18, 2:17 AM

NTU honours outstanding alumni with inaugural Nanyang Alumni Awards

SINGAPORE : Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong has called on the alumni of the Nanyang Technological University to give back to the university.

He said the alumni carried the name of the university, and they had a vested interest in ensuring that the reputation of NTU continued to go up, not down.

Mr Goh was speaking at a presentation of the inaugural Nanyang Alumni Awards to 20 outstanding people.

They recipients hail from diverse areas ranging from business, science and technology, the arts and media, as well as sports.

But these scientists, venture capitalists, sportsmen, internationally-acclaimed artist Tan Swie Hian, and singer Stephanie Sun have one thing in common - they were from the Nanyang Technological University, and have made a name for themselves and their alma mater.

Mr Goh urged all alumni to help build up NTU as the future reputation of the university will also burnish the shine of their degrees.

The name is just as important - he related how he was involved in naming the school when it was first started as a technological institute.

Mr Goh said: "We wanted to retain the name 'Nanyang' as the institute would rise from the campus of the old Nanyang University. We also wanted the word 'Technology' to reflect the mission of the institute. An obvious name was 'Nanyang Institute of Technology'. It had resonance like the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. But unlike MIT, a NIT graduate would be regarded as a fool. And when NIT became the 'Nanyang University of Technology', its graduates would be NUTs.

"Then someone suggested 'Technological Institute of Nanyang'. 'TIN' did not sound too bad but 'TUN' for 'Technological University of Nanyang' did not seem right. We did not establish the university to produce 'TUNs'. Besides, in Hokkien, 'TUN' meant dense which brought us back to square one - NIT. After playing with other permutations, we eventually settled for the name 'Nanyang Technological Institute'. It was rather a mouthful but at least nobody could make fun of the acronym 'NTI'." .......

Thanks SM Goh for giving us a decent name. =) and I hope the name will stay the same...

.: @ Miss Clarity again! :.

It's time for JC class gathering again! As it's getting tougher to think of a new venue everytime, we are back again at Ms Clarity again. Cheap and good food!

Suprisingly, Mung didnt make it as the Guest of Honour this time. Auntie Sharon Chin did. *phew* She had given me a hard time giving her instructions how to get to the cafe. " Wat Clar..ity? Got restaurant called Ms Clarity one meh?" She even threatened to kill me over the phone! Auntie Chin always has a limited knowledge of good places to eat but as long as the place satisfy the condition of "Good and Cheap", she wont mind. Haha!

Back to Clarity again!

An unsuccessful bid to capture the "pair" together. Sigh. Mung tried her best to move back but .... Nvm.. i think i got quite a few of their photos together. haha! *Eh... those who want their free treatment next time fr Dr Lim dont anyhow expose me can?! Later no free treatment dun complain arh...

There's less people at this outing compared to the one we had @ marina streamboat. But we got 2 rare comers, Doreen and Blur Jiamin. Haha! Val's clique didnt manage to make it except Doreen. (Last time was the opposite.....) The first half of the table... From left: Meimei, Juan, "Auntie" Sharon, Jiamin, Mung

The next half of the table... From left: "Dr Lim" Tian Hong, Chen Kiang, Jeffrey, Yin Kum, Zhijian, Doreen, Weina and Weide

Auntie Sharon's Tom Yam Sphag... Everyone ordered Western food except Auntie Chin. Haha.. But I still think the western food look a lot more appetizing. =) After the first Clarity outing, Chicken Cordon Bleu suddenly became popular. haha! Tried and tested eh....

The Ultra big and thick napkin given to Auntie Sharon together with her tom yam.....

Meimei and Juan... Aiyah. Bad hair day. All thanks to the rain.

Meimei's " Wu2 Ying2 shen2 zhang3"... haha... No lah... i was just creating a multi-exposure photo with 2 almost similar pictures i took.

Our all time favourite Auntie Sharon. I wonder if her poor butt still hurts.... Haha! She was doing her public relations thing with the guys at the other end. All of a sudden, a loud "thud!" was heard and we all thought somebody broke something. As what Weide said, he "looked around and realised Sharon was missing from that corner". Yup.. her seat gave way and landed on the floor. Malu~!

Mung and Teck Handphone showdown! Wahlau.. They can fight almost everywhere, anytime and with anything lah. Haha!

Hey I wanna play mahjong can? When is our next mahjong session? I thought we are supposed to have one session at least after every semester. Yea.. I am suffering from "Mahjong Withdrawal Syndrome" *Sniff* Ahha!

.: Birthday Plan :.

One week after i came back from Bangkok would be my Birthday (7 Jan, Sat). Hehe..! Chalet Confirmed! @ Downtown East. I am sorry guys... you would have to pay to come in. Wanted to book Costa Sands Pasir Ris but it's more expensive to book there. =P And there's food catering! (tentative only) Save me the trouble of clearing up if there's BBQ.

But now i have a one hell of a headache! I dunnoe who to invite... haha! I add and add... I have problems adding up to the minimum 30 people now. Crap.... -_-! I even had a horrible nightmare on the night before my thermo papers that nobody attended my birthday gathering! Argh! Sian... I hate to plan the invitation list.

hmmm....if i have less than 30 people coming, would it be better if I have BBQ?

Well... please, my dearest friends, keep that day free k? hehe! Birthday WishList will be uploaded soon....

.:Back to Kickboxing!:.

Yesterday was my 2nd day back to ***** studio for some kickboxing action again. It was my first visit to the newly opened branch at Park Mall (The shopping Mall opposite PS).

Park Mall is such a weird place.. I have never ever visited there before until yesterday. The escalator were very narrow... the whole place looked as if the ceilings were abit tad too low. The shops themselves were very cramped. All the designer furnitures shops were there and so ulu and so dead quiet. Got a hard time finding *****... Finally, i sniffed their " smell" (A very distinct smell due to their Spa i think) and woolaa.. i found it. Interestingly, it was situated right next to the Kublai Khan BBQ restuarant... That's no good for hungry women after their gym or aerobics classes. HahaHa...

The new branch was big and spacious, especially the gym. Very large gym compared to their other gym branches. While i was sitting at one corner for the Kickboxing lesson to start, there was this odd looking auntie (leopard Auntie), with her leopard-print pants, on her threadmil. She looked very corny with her pants and also... the way she brisk-walked on the threadmil. Her hips were swaying from left to right, right to left very very vigorously, as though she was trying to knock someone down with her hips...

During the class, once again i spotted the same auntie again. Seen her at almost every kickboxing lessons that i've been to cos she would move from branch to branch in a single day.... Guess she has too much time and money. Always seen swaying her arms in kickboxing classes and looked like she's dancing away.

The class finally ended at 530pm. In the changing and shower room, the "leopard auntie" was spotted again. While i was blowing my hair dry, i spotted her walking out naked from the steam bath!!! *disgusted* Although it was an all-female changing room, that auntie should have at least the courtesy to put on her undies and not running around naked... especially when the figure wasnt that fantastic... -_- !

.: Rantings :.

1. I am bored. Not because I got nothing to do. I have lotsa things to do but too nua to do anything. hehe....

2. Plan. I hate planning. Many plans to be planned. Like my 21st Birthday, my foc stuffs, my Bangkok trip, my birthday wishlist, the next semester timetable.
(I supposed all the A27-ers are sticking back to the same? Our timetable one of the best again and sure got new classmates again. lol. And hopefully A*Chew will change class. One year same class as her is "good" enough.)

3. SuperHost sucks lah. *switch off TV* How many "supers" they want huh? SuperHost, Project Superstar, Campus Superstar, Super Band, Star Idol, SI2 (next year Jan)..... -_- ! Cannot sing, then act, cannot act, then host.... No no.. I am seeing stars now.. Quality!! Not quantities!!

4. Chicken Little sucks lah. Suprisingly, It wasnt good enough to make me laugh. Glad i never waste 9.50 Bucks to watch the show.... Wat a great great disappointment. Pixar still rocks with their "Incredibles", "Ice Age" and "Finding Nemo"...
Hehe.

This Chicken Little Cuter leh. How come the movie one not that cute one...?

5. My mum is damn bored without my Dad and baby sister (Away in China) in the house. Just an hour ago, she ran into my room and asked me if i could see the next block neighbour making out with her bf... ARGH!!! Whassup with Mummy!!! Haha. Actually cant blame my mum. My next block neighbour likes to do funny things everytime with their windows wide opened. For example, doing para para dance in the room. Not that we wanted to see.. but erm... free show mah.

6. I have problem sleeping again!!! It's driving me mad cos i can only sleep at 5 or 6 am.... Stupid biological clock.

.: Miss Clarity :.

Another gathering today (7 Dec) ! Finally met up with our blur friend and future Food nutritionist to-be , Jm, who came back from Melbourne for holiday at Miss Clarity Cafe. A new chill out place which Mung and I discovered on some blog and really good place to go for outing if you are damn sick of the usual Swensen, Jack's Place or Marina steamboat. And a lot cheaper. It's located opposite National Library, behind Parco Bugis Junction. About 15 minutes walk...

As usual, Dr Lim is always the most punctual one. And Surprisingly i was the second earliest and i managed to reach on time! Jm was late and we thought she was lost again like most of the time. U might need to use a Global Satellite Tracking System to track her location when necessary. Haha! And Mung was the "Guest of Honour".

Thats the Signboard u will spot when turn into Purvis Street

The interior was colourfully decorated with bright pink, green etc. V girly... as the name of the Cafe implies. This place also has free broadband for customers to access. Damnit.. if only the place was discovered earlier, we wont have to go to that damn library to do our tech comm report for 3 dreadful weekends and get the ugly stare from other users. ok.. we also creating a din there... all thanks to Jul's "millions of criminals and thousands of terrorists". [A27 Class Joke]

The Cut out Figure on Miss Clarity Cafe... V colourful table and painted walls

The Cafe Menu.. Cheapest Set meal at Only $8.80 per set. Inclusive of Soup of the Day/Salad, Dessert, Drinks (coffee, tea or.... Lime/Barley)

We shared a great deal of gossips while we waited for the food to arrive. But everything was to be kept within the four walls. Hahahaha... =P

Please do not lick on your computer screen as you look at the following pictures.

My Chicken Cordon Bleu... ( Breaded Chicken Stuffed with Ham and Cheese... With spicy Alioli Sauce) ...Deeellliiicccciiiiouuusss. The serving was really big for this one. The Alioli (I have no idea what's that) Sauce tasted real good... and absolutely yummy... hohoho

Meimei and Jiamin ordered Pan-Seared Dory Fillet.... Yummy. But the serving was really tiny for this one. Almost ordered this but thank god i didnt. hehe. The food here not only looked good but taste good as well.

Mung's Pork-something.. Haha.. I cant remember the name.

TianHong's Chicken Ballotine ( Drumstick stuffed with Shitake Mushroom).. wahaha.. Shitake mushroom my favourite! Serving was quite small for this one as well.

After the meal at Miss Clarity's, we moved on to Coffee Bean for extra dessert and Coffee and an extra dosages of gossips. Dr Lim felt that he wanted somemore dessert. Unfortunately, the Liang Seah Street's Ah Chew dessert had started to close thier shutters down.. well some other time then.

The V chocolate-ly Damn Sinful Mudpie (shared by Mung, mei and me) and Ultimate Ice Blended From Coffee Bean. That was dead sinful. Argh!

My JC Clique.. From left: Juan, Meimei, Mung, Jiamin who just came back from Melbourne for Holidays. Jm can be so blur until she almost brought back her friend's passport from Melbourne the last time she came back. Hahaha...

Last but not least..... how can i not mention........

Jiamin and TianHong =) wahaha....Orh so sweet rite?

.: Advance Celebration For Winnie's 22 nd Birthday! :.

Wishing Winnie a Happy 22nd Birthday! We had a surprise celebration thrown for Winnie's birthday this evening at Suntec's Swensen. Hehe... It was a hard time buying Winnie's present and a even tougher time of running away from her so that she wont meet into us ( Xin, Sotong, Weilun, Lesley and me) . ( Cos the gathering was meant as a surprise.) She almost met into us as she was standing right behind us at the escalator but fortunately she was too blur to notice us. In the end, we have to run ourselves silly across the mall and up the 2nd floor so she cant see us while Eleanor "lured" her away. haha! Later, we went hiding into Harvey Norman... as we ran into the dead end. ( FYI, Half of the Suntec Mall was flooded, most probably due to pipe burst again...)

Finally we made our way to Swensen... Haha! She was so surprised to see us all... should have take a pic of that...then we all settled down for our food... Yummy..

Dont the Apple Crumble Look damn Delicious! Oishii! Taken with my new K750i. Wahaha! I finally got my new phone.. *cheer* and the camera takes good pictures. At least it doest look "pixelated" on the computer screen. I *HEART* my new phone!!! Sorry i digressed.

Our Birthday ger, Winnie!

Winnie cutting the cake! She complained the cake abit the hard to cut..... haha.

Swensen's ice cream Cake.. Yummy!!! *licklick*

*Glare*

Okie..*chill* now... to all my lovable programmers, we shall get down to serious business from next week onwards. Think we are the slackiest programmers.. Haha. No no.. cannot say we slack.. must say we "work better and more efficiently under pressure". haha! -_-!

Cheerio,

.: The Earliest Xmas card I ever Recieved in my whole Life :.

I guess nobody can ever beat TH's record. This year, he improved by writing longer message (or maybe duplicate) and typed written address. haha! But Thanks anyway!

And this remind me to go buy my Xmas cards and stamps soon.

The first Xmas Card Recieved.....
