7th Week

This week is already the 7th week of IA for me. How time flies! But Boo Hoo... my allowance is still not here yet! Wonder whats wrong with the HR people after several reminders! No Call, nothing! My sup has already approved my allowance for July so long ago. Where did my allowance go to? Grrrr.... I am broke..

I apologised to those who read my blog occasionally. Hardly got the time to blog now especially I am always feeling so braindead after work and the amount of work is escalating! In fact, thats good news for me. Hehe. My sup is outsourcing some of his work to me so that I can learn the rope from him... Yipee! And I will be extending my IA which my sup is agreeable to it since he said that he needs me around longer. Wheeee! No more slacking during December and that means extra income for myself.

Preserving My Childhood Memories

The recent "autograph bk" entry from Kenny Sia's blog prompted me to go on a frantic search for my autograph books. Autograph books were something of the past, particularly for our generation. I dont see my younger brother writing such thing but I guess the reason being is that he is introverted (and he still is.) and he only has eyes on online games. (Anything beside online games he would not have taken a fancy of. Hahaha!) I dont see my youngest sister writing such autograph book anymore but she writes letters to her friends in words which I can barely understand and she blogs too. (But she only blogs about her maple.)

I managed to dig out mine which was "well-hidden" (uhhump..) inside my old cupboard. It's not the common cartoon one but a very obiang book that says "Travelling Alone" and a choo-choo train on the cover. Sounded damn sad eh? But I was glad that I wasnt "travelling alone" now. =)
I remembered that this book was given to me free and no way i could have bought this book since i was a poor kid then. Haha! If I have the money, I could have bought a nicer one with my favourite cartoons.

After PSLE, everyone was super free. We spend the remaining days playing games like UNO, chess and of cos, writing such autograph books for others got common too. Our favourite Poem that were duplicated in almost everyone's book was...

" Bird fly high, hard to catch. Friends like you, hard to forget" or the "Roses are red, Violets are blue.."

Haha! This is in additional to many many silly things that we wrote. Best friends, Good friends, Bestest friend, Enemies, favourite food, drinks, colours, actress (everyone likes that usual few.. Zoe Tay/Fann Wong/Ann Kok Etc.) and actors (Chew Chor Meng "Ah Bee" etc).. many many favourites.

Hmmm.. this writing autograph book did not end even until secondary 1. Saw some of the posts written by some of my secondary school friends...and 1 eventually ended up on my blacklist (The one who rolled her eyes at me in SC). There's also one written by a p5,p6 friend (HQ) who also currently a coursemate in my Uni. Wonder how much things have changed. Used to be quite close to her until her attitude kinda pissed me off... hehe!

It was the last (most recent) entry that touched me the most and this deserves a worthy mention. An entry "re-written" by a close friend of 16 years. She kept my autograph book for a good 2 years before returning my book to me. Haha! It was the longest entry in my autograph book.. bringing back fond memories from our kindergarden years all the way to JC. She even enclosed a photo of her acting as a fox during the kindergarden skit! hehe! Re-reading it again makes me feel that I am blessed to have such a friend. Come to think of it, how many friendships in your lifetime that can last that long? IF she's reading my blog from Norway, just want to tell her that she will always be my bestest pal and totally appreciate her all these years. Sorry that I have been neglecting you. =( *Wave wave*

I always laugh at my sister who writes stupid nonsensical letter to her friends. Now looking at those nonsensical stuffs I wrote in the autograph when I was at her age 9 years ago, I shant laugh at her anymore. Haha!

A Wedding Style Birthday Party

Just yesterday night, I attended the most "wedding-like" 21st birthday party. The theme of the birthday party was masquerade, meaning that everyone will have to wear a mask. (No.. not ur SKII mask or surgical mask or whatever facial mask.) And guess who's birthday is that?

Lovely..... Roses and Mask... Mysterious yet Romantic..

Happy 21st Birthday to our Doctor Lim! He celebrated his birthday slightly earlier and according to Jin Xi, his actual birthday is on the coming Monday. His birthday party was held at one of the mini ballroom at Safra Mount Faber.

Only Auntie Chin, Mei and I represented "the JC friends category". That was really sad when it's only three of us who went up on stage to take pictures with him when his host shouted "Friends from NJC!!!". Well... unfortunately some of the JC friends he invited were away in US. (Mung.. hope this entry will be a good update for you since you are away in US. =P)

The Wedding-style Birthday Party.Nope.. no bride, only the "bridegroom" in his white suit. (Hahaha.. actually the "bride" is in Aussie. Nah.. Just kidding.) He also has 2 emcees that night to help entertain his guests. Oh, btw the 3 of us shared a table with his "elite" NS buddies who eventually left pretty much early before the cutting cake.

The theme of the birthday party is the "masquerade". Nice purple complimentary masks! There we are. Doing some self-entertaining with the masks given to us. Thank goodness we were not expected to wear the masks and eat our food. Hahaha!

Some of the food we had during the buffet. Salad, Sotongs, Assam Fish, noodles etc... Is a good spread of buffet food. Not forgetting the Spicy&sour soup... Not sour but kinda too spicy. haha...

Cuting cake cum phototaking session. Tian Hong and his family. His cake is a "non-fattening, healthy, special homemade" yam cake. (quoted from his mum.) Interesting cake I must say. Is a multilayer of cake and yam...

Thats Tian Hong during the JC days. Now, he is still the same as before except he spots longer hair now. After the cuting cake session, there was a photo slideshow presentation (So wedding-ish arh!), showing pictures of him when he was a baby to recent years' photos. Thats where the real entertainment come. Apparently there was a very huge picture display of him and Jm.. muahaha.. and the 3 of us just burst out hilariously. Tralala... (sad.. I wasnt fast enough to catch it on my camera.)
